Life Skill Cards: Your individual way of checking behavior.
Life Skill Cards:
Students will each have their own personalized card for the Life Skill Board. Life Skill Cards are moved during the day when a student’s behavior does not exemplify the Life Skills.
Students are given appropriate warnings when their behavior is less than good quality.
Some Examples:
* Speaking during instruction
* Not on task
* Not following directions
If student fails to correct themselves after an appropriate amount of warnings they flip their card to yellow on the Life Skill Board.
If afterward it is still not corrected, their card is turned to Red. The student misses extra recess and will be writing home to tell their parent the events of their day.
Immediate trip to Mr. Karpinski's office will follow behaviors such as:
* Inappropriate language
* Physically or emotionally hurting student with full intent, disrespect for teacher and/or students in
school environment
ONCE A CARD IS PULLED, IT DOES NOT CHANGE WITH GOOD BEHAVIOR OR FOR ANY OTHER REASON UNTIL THE END OF THE DAY.
Life Skill Card colors and correlated actions:
Green: Keep on going. You’re doing great! You've earned a marble!
Yellow: This is your LAST warning. Change your behavior. Card is flipped to yellow side.
Red: Unacceptable behavior! Student moves Card to "RED" which means
student has lost extra recess or free time during day. Student writes letter home to parent
explaining actions and signs it. Parent signature required. Call home to parent from me
if necessary. Red card remains (with all above consequences) until signed letter returns.
